This Is… Predictable — And Yet, Fascinating — All In One.

Overnight, Marty blogged about his political affinity for both Mr. Bloomberg (rather oddly, givne his prior trolling), and Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. [As to Bloomberg, that’s simply a wanna-be’s echo, in my estimation — or maybe even oppo-trolling.]

As to New York’s newest Congresswoman, I will say I too greatly admire her “American dreamer” story. She is the best of what makes America a richly woven tapestry — of ideas, and identities. My hardhatted miner’s past… adores her compelling… rise.

So it is not surprising that Marty sees an echo of his own childhood in her story.

I must also observe, though, that it has been my experience that felons who have (like Marty) enjoyed immense privileges in their adult life, usually have a re-awakening — in prison.

The prison industrial complex is real — and perhaps for the first time, most of his friends are… its victims. It causes a shift in his world-view, over time — as it does with most — similarly incarcerated.

He hopefully now sees that his awful trolling was… the worst of a whiner’s… white entitlement.

Since it is Thanksgiving — I will express gratitude, that Marty’s eyes are being opened, even if a little at a time. And I will choose to assume (without any real evidence) that this is not simply more… trolling. That is the abiding nature of my lifelong optimism — I do try to see the best, in everyone. Hopefully, this is genuine, on his part. And that hope — is a good thing. Perhaps the best of things, indeed….

Onward.
